Location Backups is a premium feature available on paid plans. Visit the subscriptions page for details about available plans.

Locations Plus includes a powerful backup feature that helps you protect your store's location data. With both automatic and manual backup options, you can ensure that your location information is always safe and recoverable.

Enabling Backups

To start using the backup feature:

  1. Go to Settings in Locations Plus
  2. Find the Location Backups section
  3. Click the On button next to "Automatic Backups"

Backup Options

Automatic Backups

When automatic backups are enabled, you can choose between two backup frequencies:

  • Daily: A backup is created once every 24 hours
  • Weekly: A backup is created once every 7 days

To change the backup frequency:

  1. Make sure automatic backups are enabled
  2. Click either Daily or Weekly under "Backup Frequency"

Manual Backups

You can also create backups manually whenever you need:

  1. Click the Create Manual Backup button
  2. Wait for the backup to complete
  3. You'll see a success message when the backup is finished

Note: You can create one manual backup per day. If you've already created a manual backup today, you'll need to wait until tomorrow to create another one.

Viewing Your Backups

To see your backup history:

  1. Click the View Backups button
  2. A list of all your backups will appear, showing:
    • When each backup was created
    • The backup status
    • The number of locations included

What Gets Backed Up

Each backup includes:

  • All location details
  • Custom fields and their values
  • Location status information
  • Address information
  • Fulfillment settings
  • Local pickup settings
  • All associated metafields

Best Practices

  • Enable automatic backups to ensure regular protection of your data
  • Create a manual backup before making significant changes to your locations
  • Choose daily backups if you update your locations frequently
  • Choose weekly backups if your locations remain relatively stable

Data Protection

All backups are securely stored within your Shopify store's data using Shopify's metafield system. This ensures your data remains private and secure within your Shopify account.
